Percival Everett to give Ann J. Abadie Lecture in Southern Studies

Author Percival Everett gives the second annual Ann J. Abadie Lecture in Southern Studies at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 17 in Nutt Auditorium, located at 542 University Ave., as part of the 48th annual Faulkner and Yoknapatawpha Conference. The lecture is free and open to the public. This year’s conference focuses on Faulkner’s modernisms.

Percival Everett is the author of more than 30 novels and story collections, including “The Trees,” “Telephone,” “So Much Blue,” “Percival Everett by Virgil Russell,” “I Am Not Sidney Poitier,” and “Erasure.” Everett has won the Dos Passos Prize, the PEN Center USA Award for Fiction, the PEN Oakland/Josephine Miles Literary Award, the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award for Fiction, the 2010 Believer Book Award, the Premio Gregor von Rezzori, a Creative Capital Award, and he is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship. Everett is currently Distinguished Professor of English at University of Southern California. He lives in Los Angeles.
