Rising Juniors and Seniors!

Apply for the Rose Cailiff Scholarship in Southern Studies

Two awards are available:

$500 to one rising senior;
$500 to one rising junior (renewable for senior year)

In order to apply for these scholarships, students must:

*be a Southern Studies major;
*have a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.5 in Southern Studies classes;
*submit a 250-500 word essay in response to the following prompt:

How has being a Southern Studies major affected your view of the region, the nation, and the world?  Which course has had a particularly impact on your world view?  How do you apply what you have learned in Southern Studies to real-world settings?  Successful essays will use specific examples.

Submission deadline is April 15.  The two undergraduate advisers and the director of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture will review submissions.  Submit materials to cssc@olemiss.edu.
