Documenting 3rd Eye Music Festival in Jackson, Mississippi

This past fall semester, graduate student Mary Blessey took an independent study in southern music culture with Dr. Darren Grem. For her final project in the course, she completed a multimedia documentary project that explores various cultural issues related to a new music festival in Jackson, MS. The event, 3rd Eye Music Festival, took place on November 14, 2015.

Blessey is in her second year of the M.A. program in Southern Studies, with a focus in documentary making. She is an alumna of Millsaps College in Jackson, MS and is from Biloxi, MS.
