On Wednesday, April 6 at 6:30pm, the band Jericho Road Show will perform a Music of the South Concert at the venue Shelter on Van Buren. The performance will be part of the 2016 Music of the South Symposium “Defining and Presenting Traditional Music.” The concert is free and open to the public.

About the Band

Jericho Road Show is an all-acoustic international super-group of seasoned musicians spanning 16 time zones and covering over a century of American Roots’N Blues music on tubas, washboards, upright bass, harps, National guitars, ukuleles, banjos, mandolins, trombones, and yes, even the saw.

The band is led by vocalists Steve Gardner of Pocahontas, MS (one of the leading acoustic bluesmen in the Tokyo music scene for over a decade), Bill Steber of Grinder’s Switch, TN (leader of the Jake Leg Stompers retro jug band collective known for Chicken-fried, Pre-war, Hokum-billy Jug music) and Washboard Chaz, legendary bandleader of New Orleans featured in the award-winning “Playing for Change” project.
