So much of what we hear about cannabis in the media has a definite stigma attached. From growing the plant and distributing to a dispensary, little is said about the revolutionary medicinal benefits of the substance. Cameron Chapman, who is on staff at Star Buds in Oxford, enlightens us becoming informed and educated on the use of cannabis is vital to understanding the diversity of the various strains and their intended purposes. The Oxford franchise promotes community involvement and maintains the historical roots of people who have paved the way for Star Buds. What is currently known about cannabis has evolved through years of research, resilience, and dedication in advocating for a space where people feel comfortable. Whether one is looking for directions on effectively using the plant as an alternative to pharmaceutical drugs or applying for a medical card, medical cannabis in Oxford has found its home. The focus of this film was to bring to light the many facets of this industry and the people that advocate for its success.


Sarah is a southern creative currently based in Oxford, Mississippi. Since childhood, she has always been inspired to create from the world around her. Though opportunities were somewhat limited, she attempted to immerse herself in the arts. She attended Mississippi School of the Arts with a focus in Theater Arts. After completing high school, Sarah had every intention of leaving the south, however, no matter how far she went, there was always something that drew her back to the region. Sarah is currently a student at the University of Mississippi completing her bachelor’s degree in film, Multi-disciplinary Studies with emphasis in film, African American studies and entrepreneurship. She is the founder of Imani Aṣẹ Media, graphic design and media production company. She gives gratitude to her parents and loved ones for always encouraging her to follow her passions.
