Sarah I. Rodriguez engages in truth-telling and empathy-building through managing the Oral History program for the Southern Foodways Alliance. She holds an M.A. in History (Public History Track) from the University of West Georgia and a B.A. in History with a Minor in Economics from William & Mary. She learned the ropes of oral history work at the William & Mary LGBTIQ Research Project, the University of West Georgia’s Center for Public History, and the Breman Jewish Heritage Museum in Atlanta, GA. Before joining SFA’s team, Rodriguez worked at the front desks of museums, facilitated simulated archeological digs for kids, freelanced as a transcriptionist, created online walking tours, and led neighborhood food tours in Richmond, VA.
