Danielle Buckingham is a Black southern writer from Louisville, Mississippi. She received her B.A. in psychology from Millsaps College, and her M.A. in sociology from the University of Mississippi. A 2017 Voices of Our Nation Fellow, her writing has been published or is forthcoming in Raising Mothers, Black Stew, Linden Avenue Literary Journal, and elsewhere. As a first-year Southern Studies M.A. student, Buckingham hopes to create work that centers Black families, Black women, and Black queer folks surviving and thriving in the Deep South.
