Pandemic Renovations
Danielle Buckingham
Pandemic Renovations is a documentary project highlighting changes and transitions taking place in Oxford, Mississippi’s downtown area, also known as the Square. The photo series focuses on the rapid development happening to businesses as well as the labor force that keeps the area booming in the midst of it. This work is intended to showcase the Square’s transformation journey following an economically devastating pandemic. As documented in the series, some businesses were forced to close permanently, while others try to adapt to a new normal.
