Since the 1970s, the Center for the Study of Southern Culture has been one of the hallmarks of the University of Mississippi, and its graduates include writers, scholars, musicians, filmmakers, teachers, organizers, businesspeople, lawyers, editors, clergy and many others who make the university proud.  Center faculty represent a range of disciplines, including anthropology, art, architectural history, economics, English, gender studies, history, journalism, music, political science, sociology, and Southern Studies. Our students come from across the South, the country, and the world. The interdisciplinary nature of the Center draws students with a diverse range of interests from many different fields, whether they are drawn to the arts, humanities, social justice, law, the nonprofit world, or business.
