Originally from Clinton, MS, Keon Burns is a first year M.A. student with an interdisciplinary academic background in accounting, history, sociology, and business. He started two businesses after graduating from the University of Mississippi in 2018. Whenever Keon is not reading to satisfy his intellectual curiosity, he enjoys playing pick up basketball games. However, due to his stout stature he is frequently the last person picked, but he quickly astonishes other players with his ability affirming the old cliche, “You can’t judge a book by its cover.” He is currently working on a project involving Black entrepreneurs during the early twentieth century.
