Dr. Kimberly Wallace-Sanders of Emory University and author of Mammy: A Century of Race, Gender, and Southern Memory will present the Lucy Somerville Howorth annual lecture as the keynote address that launches the “Women, Work, and Food” Graduate Student symposium. Her talk, entitled “Dishing up Dixie in the Post-Racial South,” will be held on the evening of September 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Barnard Observatory Tupelo Room. The event is free and open to the public.
