“Beautiful Jim” is a documentary film by Rex Jones of the Southern Documentary Project (formerly MDP). The film will have its premiere on Thursday, November 7 at 7 p.m. at the Lyric Theater, following Thacker Mountain Radio.
Jimbeau Hinson is a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter living in Nashville, Tennessee who has been HIV-positive for more than 30 years. He was also the first openly bisexual singer/songwriter in country music, and has been married to his wife, Brenda Fielder, for 33 years. Jimbeau has almost died from AIDS twice, although he is now HIV-undetectable, and he recently received a record deal and released a new album at age 62.
